IRIS

Intelligent Road Illumination System

IRIS Technology

Hilo are developing AI lighting technology which will revolutionise safety within the micromobility sector.

Using state-of-the-art LED lighting systems and intelligent micro cameras that respond to the environment that surrounds them. Safety being the core benefit, not only for its users but also for other road users and pedestrians that surround the technology.

It’s all about safety

Statistics show, pedestrian, cyclist and e-Scooter fatalities on EU roads are alarmingly high. One of the main reasons for these accidents is the lack of visibility at night during turning maneuvers and indication of direction. Hilo believe enhancing visual communication through their technology would be a key step towards improving road safety.

360° IRIS illumination system

IRIS technology is designed for protection, its AI lighting system gives you a wraparound perimeter of light to ensure that other road users can clearly see you at night. Intelligent indication systems also assist in communicating to those surrounding your vehicle.

Micromobility Applications

Hilo intend to integrate their technology into a number of micromobility vehicles, with a clear target of making safer modes of transport for everyone.

Technology engineered and developed in the U.K.

Born in the UK’s Science and Tech region. Hilo develop their technology at a state-of-the-art R&D and innovation hub in rural Cambridge.

Working with established partners we are creating technology that can be used in all forms of micromobility in future.

Artificial Intelligence technology

Technology with a mission to make micro-mobility safer, smarter and more secure. By being at the forefront of solving last mile transportation problems, we aim to deliver a benefit to modern society in the changing landscape of climate change, rising costs and increasing demand for convenience.

Collaborating with Tech-enabled micromobility products

Unit1design and manufacture unique products for urban mobility.

Their Faro smart helmet makes them the perfect partner to integrate into the Hilo architecture, with shared goals to make mobility safer, by making riders more visible to other road users.
